S24 Ultra doesn't wake up the screen when getting a whatsapp text

I recently migrated from Xiaomi to Samsung. I've had a few problems, but none of them were as big as this one: My phone's screen doesn't turn on when I receive a WhatsApp message.

Since I depend on these messages for a lot of things and my phone is always on silent, if there's no way to turn on the screen when I receive a WhatsApp message, I'll have to abandon my phone.

I've tried activating Always On Display, but I end up only having a tiny icon when a notification arrives. I need the detailed pop-up, just like it appears on iPhones and all other phones.

Can someone help me? Thanks

That sounds frustrating! Have you tried going to Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings and enabling "Brief pop-up settings"? Also, in WhatsApp settings, check Notifications > Pop-up notification and set it to "Always show". Hope this helps!

The only way is to have this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse as Samsung shockingly doesn't have an option to turn on screen upon notifications which is funny !
Once you install this app dig in the settings it's there

To get whatsapp to ring and show on a locked screen go to 1.Settings
2. Notifications
3.Notifications pop up style
4. Apps to show as brief
5.Switch off whatsapp
