Hello!

I've recently bought this phone and the quality of the display is bad. First I thought that all were the same since I've had a conversation with an online agent here and he said that this is how the phone is supposed to be, but when I went to the store and compared to another s24ultra, my phone display was looking different, lack of brightness and worse gradients banding. (I've used the same settings, all of them. Last Android update on both phones).

What should I do ? Can I get a replacement ? I don't want to send the phone in service since I've paid the money for a new phone, not for a refurbished one.  Also I don't want to get my money back since now the black friday has passed and my options are not the same. I've also lost my vouchers and wasted my time to set up this phone. I just want to have this phone new and 100% functional so I can end this unlucky story.

Thank you!

If if was due the calibration I suppose the difference would be small. But my phone looks really bad. Compared with a midranage 400 nits display, the s24s ultra looks darker and I cannot read anything if I go outside when its sunny.

The difference is quite huge. It looks 30% darker. Also the banding and the grain are worse than on the other phones. I can understand the banding and the grain, but this is a 2600 nits display and looka darker than a 430 nits one. This should not be acceptable.

Have you got extra dim ON?

I actually keep the Extra dim ON and extra brightness ON and just keep manual brightness the way I like it.

This display is super adjustable for colours and brightness now.1731777227675.jpg

I appreciate it, but in the main post Ive said that this is not a settinge issue, just a bad unit that I want to get a replace for. Is there any chance? Otherwise I will just consider switching to apple. This is my first samsung experience in years and I hope I was just unlucky and fix the problem with a replace because something is clearly not right.

Hi.

We are just a customer to customer forum here. So we can only help based on our experiences.
For real hardware issues, returns, repairs you will have to contact your local Samsung customer care in your country and dependant on their returns and repair policy.

I understand your frustration about a possible defective unit. But it doesn't reflect the whole of samsung has quite a lot of people are happy with their units and only people with issues may pop up in forums like these.

We wish you well in whatever decision you take.

Your money your decision.🙏

Thank you, I understand. Only on mondey I can talk again with somebody from samsung. I wish I can fix the situation. Their support was unprofessional with me so far.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

Sorry to hear of your concerns.

Here in the UK there is a 14 day returns window where the device can be returned for replacement (Samsung will be difficult about this, wanting to arrange a repair) or a refund.

I'm not sure of the rules in Romania.

If you are inside the returns window, I would call (not email) Samsung Customer Service and request this and get a replacement (note that Samsung will do everything they can to block this approach and suggest a repair but you bought a new device and it should be new out of the box).

If you are outside of the returns window, you'll need to book a repair I'm afraid. Samsung wont budge on this.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.
