S24 ultra display fix/ refund?

Had my s24 ultra nearly a week and really enjoying the phone (got the green colour which is great in person). 

The display is so bad though; looks noticeably worse than even my z flip3 I came from and, although I usually prefer a more natural profile, it's really dull and washed out no matter what settings I use - photos taken on the phone even look awfuI on the display but better when sent to zflip or MacBook and just reading text is fatiguing.

I know there are tonnes of posts already but seems to be mixed messages as to whether a fix is due?? Approaching the end of my return window so will definitely send back and switch to s23 ultra if Samsung are trying to claim there isn't an issue? 😞

@Ollies24 have a look at some of those threads as there are certain functions to turn off that some say improve the display. 


Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

Thanks for reply, I've read through lots of other threads here and played around with eye comfort/ adaptive settings etc but still very dull and grainy. Going to return phone before 14 days runs out

There are conflicting statements from various Samsung reps now.  

- that there's a fix coming

vs

- that it's intended that Vivid isn't Vivid anymore and won't be fixed.

That's the problem.

Agree with you. I sent a message to support and got a reply saying there is no issue with vivid vs natural mode. They asked me to send screen shots which I did showing the stock pics on natural, vivid with rgb all the way up and all the way down - all pics looking exactly the same. I was told that's just how it's supposed to look. Then I see others getting a totally different reply so honestly have no idea!

Thank you! Yes, this is the problem - would love to just wait for a software update but because answers are so conflicting, what happens when we all get past our return windows and they decide it's actually as intended?

Surely if it is a fault we can ask for a replacement or refund under the warranty period instead of feeling rushed to return the device during the cooling off period?

You'd hope so but after chatting with support I'm going to return mine - they said there isn't a fault and it's about customer preferences so doesn't bode well at all once the 14 days is up!

It doesn't make sense. If Samsung say it isn't a fault than it should hopefully be a software issue that should be rectified with an update
