That is exactly how it should look. It is the composition of the picture. The moon is just a super bright object in the a very dark frame. It will not be very different even when using a pro camera in automatic mode.
By the way, did you use flash? If yes, I would turn it off. One should never use flash on a night shot unless the object is near and within the distance of the flash. The same is true if there was a strong light near by. The phone will focus on the bright area of the picture.
If you want to take a picture of the moon. I would recommend a tripod, 100X zoom, and if possible use a second device as the shutter button. e.g. a watch or remote.
It is advisable to use a tripod when taking pictures with a large zoom, especially when the object is very far. Any tiny movement on the camera will represent a large movement for the object. A remote shutter button will help with any movement on the phone at the moment of taking the picture. Touching the screen to take the picture might add some movement moving the object out the frame.
