I've had the samsung S series for about 10 years. Always upgrade to the new versions. I massively regret my upgrade to the S24.

I'm experienced with S series cameras. I know the settings inside out. I know about camera assistant and expert raw.

But no matter what I do, or what I try I remain disappointed with the camera. The camera is the main reason I buy a phone. I've looked at buying the S23 Ultra again and it's more expensive than this one.

Has anyone had any luck getting any sense from samsung support? I find them so difficult to deal with. They're always scripted and never fully understand the issue. A raised a complaint and nobody ever got back to me...apart from moving from samsung I'm not sure what else I can do.

Let me know if you've had any luck with the s24 camera or support. Don't reply with pics. I've got good pics from this phone...they're just few and far between and ALWAYS require edits to help.

Ah that's great. Unfortunately their suggestions have fell flat for me. It doesn't help that every time I speak to them I have to start from scratch too! Glad you're sorted 👍🏻

What is or what you find most disturbing about the S24 camera expirience?

I get great zoom photos and I've found oddly zooming to 9.9x produces better quality than 10x aswell weird I know. It's best Samsung have ever done and they'll improve it over time. It's more natural and less saturated than before and no over sharpening either. These are all 5x zoom 20240605_142702_1000002048_1717594023.jpg20240606_165725_1000002285_1717689445.jpg20240606_172907_1000002316_1717696701.jpg20240605_140402_1000002024_1717592643.jpg

Yeah i too am dissapointed with the s24 ultra camera image processing...

For once the main cam is awesome except for the occasional slight green tint.

The 2x zoom shots are good but not great, considering this is a 200mp phone at 2x in good daylight settings i believe it could actually produce far more detailed shots.

The 3x sensor takes incredibly noise pictures even in good daylight, it's just horrible anyway you put it, using 3.1x zoom actually produces lesser noisy pictures go figure..., it's current state is so bad that when pixel peeping it makes me regret buying it.

5x shots are pretty good actually but 10x shots are always blurry like some sort of vaseline is applied to the lens, also in low light condition you get a very noticeable red tint.

So... yeah i really hope they fix this quickly as we are already in June and no news about it so far.

Haven't noticed any bad grain on 3x or 5x only in lower light

That is just speculation, I don't think they will give any special camera update in future which will really fix all these multiple problems. This time it's the hardware they are using with s24 ultra is not capable to click great pictures like other Chinese manufacturers. Few phones in the Market just half price then the s24u is clicking really good pictures. So a very big disappointment from the Samsung selling phone with old camera hardware is not acceptable.

Front selfie camera is not good.

I wrote to support, and got the generic answer.

People are blurry and soft.

I'm massively disappointed with the pictures this camera produces, so much so that's I'm now looking to downgrade to the s23 or s22 even or even look into other manufacturers offerings. The camera on the S series was always a gradual improvement from model to model, though the s24 I think they have relied too heavily on AI technology to make up for mediocre hardware. Super zoom on my previous 2 S cameras was somewhat pointless at full zoom (I thought) but the 24 doesn't come anywhere near the detail previous cams could achieve. I'm finding even standard photography as average distances are pretty ugly . Trying to switch off as much AI as you can just results in lackluster pictures in it's own right, sure they not as plasticy and gross looking, but there's still something missing.
