I've had the samsung S series for about 10 years. Always upgrade to the new versions. I massively regret my upgrade to the S24.

I'm experienced with S series cameras. I know the settings inside out. I know about camera assistant and expert raw.

But no matter what I do, or what I try I remain disappointed with the camera. The camera is the main reason I buy a phone. I've looked at buying the S23 Ultra again and it's more expensive than this one.

Has anyone had any luck getting any sense from samsung support? I find them so difficult to deal with. They're always scripted and never fully understand the issue. A raised a complaint and nobody ever got back to me...apart from moving from samsung I'm not sure what else I can do.

Let me know if you've had any luck with the s24 camera or support. Don't reply with pics. I've got good pics from this phone...they're just few and far between and ALWAYS require edits to help.

Hey there and welcome to the Forum.

There has been very significant debate in this forum about the cameras on the S24 Ultra in particular.

My own view is similar to yours, I'm somewhat underwhelmed by them overall, especially zoom.

We are hearing that there may be a big cameras update in June / July but that hasn't really been confirmed by Samsung (and we did hear it would be in May too).

So time will tell I guess.

I have no advice, but I just wanted to say I can relate. I've upgraded from the S20, and I'm feeling so underwhelmed by the S24 camera in comparison. And that's just from using the standard camera, not the pro modes.

Hi

No offence. But I don't understand posts like these, which don't really explain what the actual issues are and say I am not happy with the camera, etc.

Here is my take.

1. I find the 5x more usable than the 10x period.

The 3x and 5x are great for portraits and people shots.

Which as far as I know what people will use the cameras for.

I actually like the way the pictures come right of the cameras now that I don't even feel like editing anymore.

I could go on and on, but I'll finish with the below.

Are the cameras good?

Yes.

If you stick with the native .6, 1x, 3x, and 5x.

No

For zooms over 10x, etc.

I do realise Samsung has rushed the s24 series and the algorithms past the 10x are pants and I guess this is where they need to sort out their algorithms.

I know some of the newer phones from the competitors seem very enticing but trust me it's not all it seems.

And I have seen the comparisons from almost all of them that are available on the world wide Web.

I'd say just enjoy your purchase and stick to the main. Lenses for now.

A phone is more than just it's cameras. And the s24 ultra delivers.

Hi.

No offence...but your response wasn't really necessary if you don't understand the post. Just scroll on, maybe?

I did say that I'm an experienced user. I have many issues with the camera, and I didn't want to make a massive lengthy post about the specifics because I wasn't asking for advice on how to use the camera or change the settings. I can confirm that images aren't okay for me when I stick to standard settings.

I've asked if anyone has had any luck with samsung help as they're falling short for me and not following up on complaints and queries. I'm not finding a way to get any sort of decent resolution / conversation with them. If someone has had luck via a certain route it would be great for me to know and follow the same.

I find your response really patronising, to be honest...I cannot "enjoy my purchase" when I bought it for a camera that I find falls short in most situations and is producing poor images. Even in the simplest point and shoot defaults. The s24 absolutely doesn't deliver...for me.

Hi. Thanks! It's helpful to know there'll possibly be an update. I remember the excitement for the first update after release, but I didn't find there has been much improvement so far. Hopefully the next will be better 🤞🏻

Yeah...I wasn't going to upgrade from the S23 Ultra as the cameras looked to be pretty similar in spec. I did because the s24u was less per month. So I just went with it! Really regret doing so 😭 I'm using my Sony mirrorless more now...which is a good thing I guess. But with the previous phones I just didn't bother taking it out. Now I have to as I don't trust the simple phone cameras 🙃

Hi

Maybe consider looking under my profile for my camera review posts and give me feedback about the pictures I posted there.

I read you are good with regards to camera stuff hence never posted anything about it except my view that the standard lenses work better for now.

I am passionate about photography myself.

If you actually posted you issues with the camera you are having more people would have helped you then the support team ( unless it's a hardware issue)

There are some brilliant people here who are taking amazing photos. Have a look at the photo gallery.

Maybe even post samples of your issue if you can.

I find I take good shots and to my liking. Asked two times for assistance from Samsung support and both times it was resolved to my satisfaction
