Hi, so I got my new S24 ultra a few days ago and noticed that when the camera app is open without touching it or recording a video it will randomly crash after 2 minutes. I tested it a few times and it keeps crashing around the 2 minute mark. I have tried clearing cache and clear data, restarting my phone and force stopping the camera app.

@Max512: Please note that if you open the Camera app and leave it idle for a few minutes, then it will automatically close. This is a normal feature, and is nothing to be concerned about.

Hi @Max512
I understand you've already tried some generic troubleshooting. 👍
If this was my phone my next steps would be to factory reset, and then set the phone up as new i.e dont use any back up, and then see what happens.
If that failed to remedy the situation then I would be looking at any relevant cooling off period to have the phone swapped out.
A person who has owned a phone for such a short period of time shouldn't have to be carrying out troubleshooting steps in my opinion.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

@Max512 If camera continuously crashes (not just closes after an idle period) a few other suggestions:
Check Diagnostics to see if any issue identified, Samsung Members-Support -Diagnostics. An idea to try in Safe Mode as sometimes third party app can cayse conflict, if camera is ok there would suggest recently installed Apps may be causing an issue. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/
However if still problem pull down the quick settings Menu and check if camera Access is turned on. Alternatively go to Settings-Apps-Camera and check permissions, ensure Camera is Allowed. Check to see if camera is working now. Could also clear Data/Cache ,go to to Settings-Apps-Camera-Storage and clear Data and cache,Restart Device.
Another idea is to clear cache partition:
1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer ,TV USB or other Device , Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.
A Factory Reset would be the next step and if still no resolution would be seeking some Redress.
