S24 ultra calls go silent

For about 3 months now I've been dealing with my calls not coming through, answering calls and everything is mute, and or having any where from 6 seconds to 1 minutes and 23 then silence but everyone else says they can here me.

My provider is Tmoblie..

I've replaced the sim card twice. I now have an eSim. I've been to a samung store they told me I was just roaming, 2 hours later the problem came back. Reset the phone to factory settings. Restarted the moblie networks countless times. Got a new phone. Hard restart new sim (and the Esim). Restarted moblie networks, access points, and disable Bixbly and hand gestures. When I spoke to tech support they tell me the phone is on and working, the sim card is good, the towers are up and running.. after all this... it's still having the problem. It took 25 times to try and call someone one day. The volume is up, DND is off, this effects both wifi and non wifi calling.

Has anyone ever had a problem like this an a solution?? Please help, I'm at my wits end with this problem!

Just to rule out ant underlying hidden software issues with the phone, Clear the Cache Partition. There are plenty of good instruction videos on YouTube.

I do this regularly on mine, regardless of whether I have any issues or not, just to prevent issues occurring.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi @Nylabonee

Are you in Germany? Have you updated the phone to the latest firmware? I recall an update to enable some features in Germany.

Did you set the phone using SmartSwitch?

Do you live in a rural area?

Do you have the same problem in a big city?

I would suggest:

Reset the phone to factory defaults, (backup all your data before this step):

Settings -> General management -> Reset -> Factory data reset -> Tap Reset button

Set the phone as new and do not install any extra apps. (Do not use SmartSwitch, or restore data)

Do all firmware updates:

Settings -> Software updates -> Download and install

Updates all apps on Google Play and Galaxy Store.

See if the phone works as expected.

If not, try booting the phone on safe mode and try making calls.

You mentioned you got a new phone. It is understandable that a phone is faulty, but there are fewer chances that your will get two broken phones.

I've gotten 2 sim cards replacements, I now have an eSIM. 3 factory resets, I've replaced the phone, I'm replacing the phone again in two days when it's delivered. I've toggled the airplane mode, reset the moblie networks, reset the moblie access points, Cleared the Cache Partition, called to check the status of local cell towers and it still goes silent, but now it seems to work outside of the house

Hi again @Nylabonee

I appreciate you have done quite a lot to troubleshoot your issue. In your reply you repeated what you already have told us in the original post. However, you did not reply any of my questions. I do not work for Samsung, or I am affiliated to them nor any other company. I am just another customer like you. Most if not all members on this forum are ordinary customers like you or me. I asked the questions to try to eliminate some of the variables.

There was an update to target some frequencies/bands in Germany. Rural areas, at least in the UK, are known to be very problematic. Big cities/towns usually have a wider range of frequencies/bands and technology. If this only happens where you are then it will indicate some sort of incompatibility between the phone specs and the masts providing the signal.

The suggestions are also given in that order to try to eliminate possible causes. The factory reset and setting the phone as new, it is to see if the recovery process was introducing some settings. SmartSwitch is being known to introduce some configuration that might affect the settings of the phone. Updating all firmware and apps will ensure that old bugs are not present. Booting in safe mode, disable all non-essentials apps and will help determine if one of the installed apps are causing the issue.

These steps should be done in that order to rule out those possible causes. I know it is very laborious and tedious, but it is always advisable to do one change at the time.

I dislike having to do a factory reset. I always consider it the very last resort. So, you might like to try my suggestions with the new phone.

It is possible that you got two faulty phones, but it is unlikely. Of course, it might well be something with the phone design and technical specifications. If that were the case, I would expect to see more cases like yours.

If it is working outside the house and not inside, it could be that your house is built in a manner which might be behaving like a Faraday cage.

By the way, if you reply to my post adding @Reylob will call my attention because it shows on the website’s notifications. Similar to what I did at the beginning of the post with your username.

Yes, you are not alone.  I ´m in Brazil and I have exatcly the same issue. Lokks like it gets worse when I´m using any blutooth device to make the call.

In my case sometimes tha people that I´m calling just stop hearing me but I can hear them perfectly.

This is already know issue that samsung doesnt fix ou recognize among others like the screen freezing when the phone is connected to windows my phone with the original samsung case on it....

For me the issue is still the same.

Neither the issues with calls neither the issue with screen lock when using the original samsung case
