I've been comparing the battery usage between 120hz and 60hz and even though 120hz apparently uses more battery i haven't seen a change, same with fhd+ and qhd+. for example if i have 60hz and fhd+ my battery will last nearly exactly 16 hours and 45 minutes whereas if I have 120hz and qhd+ my battery lasts the exact same, 16 hours and 45 minutes. is there a reason samsung state that there is more battery usage when there clearly isnt?

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

Whilst your findings are interesting, reality is that each time you have checked your battery, your im device usage will have been different so I suspect it is purely coincidence.

Hi.

I did a similar experiment like yours when I first got my S21 ultra 4 years ago and came to the same conclusion.

I use my phone with all the bells and whistles it offers as that what I paid for.

The 120hz only kicks in if you touch the screen like scrolling on social media apps.

That's why social media apps will always drain more battery due to the continuous screen touching vs say watching streaming apps like Netflix where there is minimal need to touch the screen.

I hope it clears a bit for you how it works.😊

Hello 👋 @k1tley and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 😎

Battery specs is a subjective topic as we all set up our phone's differently ,and use different apps, and use them differently too.

I personally want everything my phone can achieve so set mostly everything to On etc, and my phone can still last 2~3 days between charging.

So I chose long ago to not have the battery % sign in my status bar so I'm not drawn to that, and just enjoy what the phone brings.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎
