Hi all, I bought a pre launch s24 and I've noticed the battery is draining pretty quickly through standard use. I'm disappointed in this as my s21 FE was holding battery charge much better. Has anyone had any issues and was there a resolution, before I contact Samsung directly?

Thanks

Can you perform a few troubleshooting steps please @hat88

  • Run the battery from full to approximately 15% then look in Device Care Section under Battery to see what apps are using your battery. Post that here along with showing your top status bar so we can get a handle on what's going on.
  • Clear the phone's System Partition Cache Files Section which can help.
  • Use Safe Mode.

> Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

> Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then ling hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

@hat88  Try the Troubleshooting suggested.  If after giving it a bit of time and not a resolution would be an idea to Factory Reset (after backing up), restore from Cloud Backups and set up the apps afresh.  Know this can be a bit of a hassle to some but sometimes necessary ,though more of a last resort.

it can also be advantageous to send an Error Report,, Samsung Members-Support-Send Feedback-Error Reports-Power/Charging/Battery. Include a description of the issue and be sure to include the system logs.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Hi.

Background data and always ON location can drain battery.

Maybe look into app permissions and change this for some apps to no background data and location only when. App opened.

Some apps will need to be ON all the time for security so choose wisely.

I've just come on to check if anyone was having this issue. Is your phone also fast charging as it should?

Mine all of a sudden isn't fast charging.

I recently bought the s24 snapdragon edition. Before the play store update, the phone produced excellent battery life. But after the play store update I'm facing overheating and very fast battery draining.Even the phone is losing so much battery without any operation within hours.

Same here, my 3 year Old xiaomi holds the battery 10 times better. This is my first galaxy and its rally disappointing, esiecially while away on holidays when you cant make a 1 hour trip using navi without draining 50% of the battery. Not to mention it drains like crazy when idle!! guess ill have to return this piece of *****...
