Hi all I'm looking for some advice please 

My has phones just done an.update and I'm.now struggling to use it.. before the update I preferred to be able to swipe left & right to find my apps, now they.are all in one place where you have to pull the screen down, also the icon names / pictures have changed.

Is there away to change this back to the original settings please. Also some tones have changed like the charging tone.

Any messages I get i can only see them by pulling down the left corner, again can I change this back

You can use Samsung Good Lock for some customisations https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-good-lock-1079882/

other plugs in also available, in terms of gestures though Google has made changes and doubt you can revert that.

Might want to take at look at a few videos if you have not done so already, you should become accustomed to it in time.

@sp2020: To change the Apps screen back to the horizontal view seen in previous Android versions, please swipe up from your Home screen > Tap the 3 vertical dots to the right of the Search bar > Sort > Custom order. Please note that this view does not automatically sort your apps into alphabetical order, therefore you will be required to manually drag and drop the apps into your preferred spots.

Thank you so much for this, I have been able to change this. Any idea how I can change the message settings, please ?? I'm currently having to drag the screen down from the left-hand corner of the screen to see / respond to any messages. Also the update has stopped my lock home screen layout from working, any idea on that too please
