S24+ not connecting to VW passat

I have a 2014 Passat, and my S10 and S24+ will connect to the Stereo for hands-free but not audio, When it is connected, the toggle for the audio in settings is grayed out or it switches off straight away. I know this isn't an issue with the car, as I have friends with iPhones and other Android devices that haven't had an issue. I have looked online and it seems like this issue has been going on for a long time, Is there anyway to solve this issue without an AUX cable or new stereo system?

I used to have the same issue with my old VW Scirocco. The only way round it is to switch off Bluetooth on your phone and then switch it back on and manually connect to the car's Bluetooth before it automatically connects.

i did see this solution before, but for some reason it will not work, consistently

I also have a VW and my S24 Ultra is connecting without problems. There were a few posts about this issue a few weeks earlier. The solution was to contact the the car manufacturer/dealership to update the firmware on the car.

The fact that other phones can connect does not necessarily  proves that the car is not at fault. It depends on the BT version and implementation. Eight years is a good technological gap between your phone and the car.
