S24 battery drain overnight

I've had my S24 for a few weeks now, and I noticed a pretty weird pattern. First off, the battery life is horrific. I can play a game for a full hour and lose maybe 2%, but just have it lying around and it'll be empty in less than a day, and I'm not a big user. (See the attached weekly report - 1h39m of daily usage.) After a bit of watching I noticed a pattern: it drains about halfway overnight, when I'm asleep. I decided to test it last night, and lo and behold... Charged it to 100% just before I went to sleep, and woke up to 60% charge. It shows no apps used. This pattern is pretty consistent over the last few days, see the attached screenshots. It actually empties more during my sleep than it does during daily use. I called support and they told me this was normal behavior, but I call bullshit on that one. For reference: my work phone (A53) will run several days before needing a charge. Has anyone noticed a similar issue?

Edit: Probably goes without saying, but just to be on the safe side: yes, everything is updated. I did not use SmartSwitch to install the phone - went full clean with a manual install. There are no apps on my phone I did not manually download, apart from the factory defaults.

Overnight battery drain on a Samsung S24 Ultra can be caused by several factors, including: active background apps, excessive syncing, Always-On Display being enabled, location services running in the background, outdated software, faulty apps with excessive permissions, and issues with network connectivity; all of which can continue to drain your battery even when your phone is supposedly asleep.

Setting up some routines can certainly help. Set up lactation off, Battery saving mode to turn on at a certain time. Mobile data off, all these routines can help with battery over night. Try sleep mode before you go to bed. Check you network signal is good and check what you have syncing in the backing.

Get the Good Guardians app from the Galaxy store. The Battery Guardian as some settings that may help. Also the battery tracker module will probably give some information about what's happening.1737109439501.jpg1737109439527.jpg

Hello,

I have had exactly the same issue for a few weeks, did you manage to solve it?

I have had the same. It started using 5% overnight and now it is using 20% overnight. This is with apps on Deep sleep, Always-On Display off, Location service off, Power saving on. Battery usage overnight does not show any usage for apps. I have even switched all said settings on and the same power usage applies. I have done a factory reset but it just ended up being the same. If it is a faulty app, I dont know how to find the culprit. Good Guardians is not on the galaxy store in South Africa.
