Refresh rate goes only to 24 Hz

Why doesn't it go to 1 Hz as advertised? S24 Ultra here, it is the same as on the S22 Ultra.

Sorry I was just kidding earlier, screen refresh rates are Hz not GHz 😀. I have mine on adaptive (up to 120hz), to me it makes the movement and things like scrolling way smoother and less 'choppy'.

Adaptive refresh rate means the display will vary depending on the contents. I seem to recall it goes down all the way to 1Hz for example when the AoD is active, and ramps up whenever it needs to.

Yes that's true, guess I've been saying wrong all the time.
I think it's subjective, I feel that 120 hz is too fast for me.

But 120hz doesn't make movements or animations faster as such, but they will have more frames for the same duration. Saying that I've heard people saying that certain refresh rates were giving them headaches, especially at low brightness.

My phone is on adaptive and I don't see anywhere 24 hz.

I got used with mine on 60 hz and I like it.

It's not mentioned in those settings but if you enable the developer settings you can add the refresh rate as an overlay to see what it is in real time.

That would make sense, the phone is going to save battery until you use it again.

See that number on the top left, I see it going to 24Hz too when I'm not doing anything.

Yea if you like it then it's fine, and it will save battery as well so it's a win win.
