Try rebooting then checking with google photos and the gallery app. If they aren't there or in the trash, as johnz said, not much you can do.
If your storage was full to the point of the last mb being used for video, your phone probably deleted them to make room for more important things.
Your phone needs a little space to keep running, if you use every last bit of space, it will make it's own room
