Just updated my S24 Ultra to OneUI 7/Android 15, and after being upset at pointlessly removed/harder to access features that I used daily, I noticed that the navigation buttons are extremely unresponsive. All 3 of them require you to mash repeatedly and hope and pray that eventually the button works.
Gestures seem to work fine, but those have always been inconsistent purely by design, which is why I like actual buttons to press. I've seen one post on Reddit of someone else having the issue so it's not just me.
Seriously Samsung, is this your way to force everyone to use gestures? Why can't I just have working buttons? The phone is genuinely unusable with unresponsive navigation buttons. It takes me like 5 seconds just to go to my home screen or pull up the app switcher.
Circle to Search also does not work. Holding the home button does not work.
Solved! Go to Solution.

There is no "One UI Home" in [Settings -> Apps]
If I go to [Settings -> Apps -> Samsung app settings], there is a One UI Home, but tapping it just brings me to the Home screen settings.
Do I need to record this too? Jeez.

S24+. Updated and also have the same issue. Very annoying.

Finally found a solution on my unlocked s24 ultra. Simply boot into safe mode, and then exit out. Nav buttons work flawlessly now. It does seem to reset some settings and home screen settings when going back out into normal boot, but so far so good.

This just worked for me as well (for now, anyway). Saved my S24 Ultra from an energetic trip into the nearest wall. "Thanks," from us both.

Can confirm this works. That Reddit thread I mentioned now has this as the solution. Good stuff!

Same problems you experienced. This solution did not work. I use Nova Launcher. But navigation bar is virtually unrepsonsive (similar to the video posted earlier in the thread). Have to mash multiple times for a button to work.
I've cleared cache partition multiple times. Rebooted multiple times. Booted to safe mode multiple times.
Nothing works.
For now I've switched to using gestures for naviagtion (which absolutely SUCKS).
Samsung really needs to fix this. I swear the next phone will be a Pixel. So sick of this.
/end rant

I did the "safe mode" route and it works for a bit but then the buttons become unresponsive again. Are you using any of the GOOD LOCK apps? I am, but those are samsung apps - ugh.
I have an s24+

I have same issue after my update as well. Have you found any solutions?

I just got the OneUI 7 update for my Flip5 and am seeing the non-functional navigation button issue big-time. I tried rebooting in safe mode but it didn't fix the issue at all. This feels like it needs a system patch. 😞

Safe mode worked for me. Thanks
