So, swapped everything across from S23 Ultra to S24 ultra but couldn't work out how to set custom message alert tone?

It doesn't work like One UI 6 where each app had categories....
Or rather it does but you have to turn them on!

Hidden in settings...
Settings,
notifications,
advance settings,
MANANGE NOTIFICATION CATEGORIES FOR EACH APP.

Only then can you go messages, 3 dots, settings, notifications, NOW categories shows up!

Why hide something like that away??

Notification categories magically appears!🙄🤣

Why take something that was intuitive and hide a simple setting?

If it's set to default, it should use the app default tone?
Eg, go into Facebook app, settings, notifications... Facebook is there in my list1724307095444.jpg

Thanks Ziddy!!

In 30 Seconds of reading your post you helped me more then 1.5 hours on the phone with Samsung Tech Support in my S24+ making changes that I just had to undo when complete. It seems as technology advances we lose more and more capabilities, or they are hidden deep within the bowels of the Menu System. All I wanted was the Google Messaging (native to the phone apparently) to allow me to assign its own ringtone (not the default) and you brought my 2 days of struggles to an end in 30 seconds.

Now can you tell me if I can get alert tones in my Bluetooth while I'm on a call? Is the only way to get the phone to ring only in the Bluetooth to mute the Ringer??

You're smarter than I am about this , so why not try to pick your brain!! Thanks for being there!!

Sorry, not sure I'm understanding... whilst connected to Bluetooth, are you getting message notifications or do you WANT notifications?
Bluetooth to what? Headphones, car kit?
Tbh, never taken much notice as mine is connected to my wagon all day and I like my actual phone to do notifications.
If listening to music via Bluetooth, notifications do come OVER the music, which I find annoying 🤣
