I have a brand-new S24 Ultra and cannot get the notification sounds to work for love nor money. I’ve done everything I can think of in apps, notifications etc and have also done a reset, but still nothing.

The apps I mainly use sound alerts for are Outlook, Teams and Messenger.  I’d be really grateful for any suggestions - thanks in advance.

Appreciate you may of tried everything in the phones settings but just in case you missed something. Go into phones settings menu again and press the search feature (spyglass)...type in "notifications" and double check all categories you see. Also check the individual apps settings for any notification menus. For instance the Outlook app has it's own notification setting within its settings menu. Check the others to see if they have the same.

Thanks very much for this - I’ve now been through all the search results one by one, and I can’t spot anything I’ve missed. I’ve also checked the apps’ internal settings (Facebook, Outlook etc) and everything seems to be okay…. Plus the sound notifications were all working fine before on my previous Samsung phone (A22), and I haven’t changed anything within the appssince I transferred my data yesterday. I really don’t know if there’s a fault or if there’s some crucial thing I’m missing… It’s driving me mad! It also doesn’t make any difference whether my phone is locked or not. Thanks again!

If you xfered your data using smartswitch then try wiping your cache partition.

Hi @Members_qUUmEp1

Did you try clearing the cache partition? If no, I would give it a try.

In this support page, Samsung explains how to https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/

Did you use SmartSwitch to set your S24 Ultra? If yes, would you consider trying to reset the phone and setting as new and then install apps as needed. I know it is a pain, but it could help you troubleshoot the issue. SmartSwitch is meant to make a painless transfer, but it can be quite the opposite.

Thank you both. I have no idea what a cache partition is but I’ll give it a try! 😂 And I guess if the worst comes to the worst, I’ll have to try reinstalling all the apps individually. Sounds a right pain, tho’!  Thank you again - I’ll report back!

Hi, I think I’ve finally sorted it. No lightbulb moment,  I’m afraid - just removing and re-adding various  apps until the notification sounds all eventually worked. Thanks again for your help.

Such an annoying faff - so far it’s taken me almost two days to set this phone up, and I’m not finished yet. For such an expensive and supposedly top-end device I can’t say I’m impressed… Hope things improve from hereon in.

I have the exact same problem! I do a hard reset and connect anything to the bluetooth and not even a notification beep can be heard in the headset. Music or Youtube sounds just fine. I'm not setting my phone all back up untill this is fixed.

I'm going through the same issue. Seems to be a software problem. Bought 2 S24 ultras (1 for me, another for my wife). Both having the same issue, after being on line with the Samsung support team, they got hers working again, then after about 30 minutes the problem came back (no changes had been made to the phone). Tried the support for mine, they tried and tried, no luck. Told me to take it in for service.

Also, noticed that even when I'm in the "sounds and vibration" menu I cannot hear the notification tones, the phone only vibrates. This behaviour is only for notifications, for the ringtone I can preview the sound no problem.
