As far as I know, you probably pressed on the notification first, and then it prompted you to unlock the phone. Once unlocked, the phone jumps directly to that particular app.
Instead, when you receive a notification, don't press on it. Unlock the phone first, then you can choose which notification to press on to jump to its app
