Hi all,
I thought I should post a few notes on my experience with my recent upgrade.
I have approx 30 Samsung devices in the household, TV's, Fridge, washing machine, dryer, phones tablets and so on and only used Samsung for many years.
I decided to go for an upgrade from Note 20 Ultra 5G and from Watch 4 to S24 Ultra and Watch 7.
With regret (my fault for not checking the specs, I am guessing I trust Samsung too much) I realized that the new phone does not have SD card. Come on Samsung. This is one of the main reason for not buying an iPhone!
I am lucky enough that I ordered the 512 GB model. If I know I would have gone for the 1TB and if it would have been lower than this I would have been in trouble.
The phone to phone transfer via cable was interrupted and had to resume 7 times.
I just realized that all SD card data / pictures was not transferred so doing this manually.
Lots of issues in re-setting up apps, logins and Google services authentication. Not-straight-forward.
Registering the new watch was problematic as I could not log into Google so skipping this step was the only option.
The overall transfer / upgrade process was not great and I hope Samsung will see this and improve on any potential bugs.
I am still going trough re-setting up the new device and I will update if I find any more issues.

@Members_JkT6xxS That is a lot of samsung Devices. SD card started being removed from the flagships in 2021 , some customers may like them but they are not the fastest technology and can be prone to errors. There is an option to use a USB-C SD card Reader but may not be the most convenient. Nowadays many prefer cloud storage (there are a variety of services) other than syncing with Drive or using Google https://www.techradar.com/best/best-cloud-storage-for-photos.
can also back up to local storage.
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
