S24 Ultra has no data/5G connection when making calls. It happens only when making or receiving phone calls and has been happening since day one. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Yes when I was with the wrong network (ID Mobile).

Sometime networks perform worse indoors than outdoors.

Contact your network provider and share your experiences to see if a solution can be found via this channel.

I am certain it is unrelated to the service provider.

 

1. The phone reconnects to the data network immediately after hanging up calls.

2. I never had similar issues with my old S22 Ultra.

If I make or receive a phone call, my data connection goes down completely—no navigation, email, social media, or any data at all. Everything returns to normal immediately after hanging up phone calls.

@li0171: It is potentially network related, as some networks do not support the ability to simultaneously connect to calls and mobile data. If you head to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > 4G calling, and toggle this option off, do you notice an improvement? Also, in SIM manager, are calls and Mobile data assigned to the same SIM?

Hey Andrew, on my S20FE - wasn't an issue. Used Smart switch to upgrade to the S23+ and the No Data access on calls started. Again Smart Switched to upgrade to the S24+ and same issue. No Data/Internet when on a phone call. S24+ currently has 2 sims in use. 1 personal 1 work. Calls are made on my personal while Data is the work sim. I have checked the Mobile Network settings as you suggested and all are 5/4/3g auto network connect. No other option. What else do you suggest?

@Tarnz: If you have your calls assigned to SIM1, and mobile data assigned to SIM2, then SIM2 may be temporarily disabled while you are on a call. With this in mind, as a troubleshooting step, please try heading to Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Preferred SIMs, and assign Mobile data to your personal SIM to see if this helps.

Touch Settings
Touch Connections
Scroll down and touch Mobile networks
Touch Network operators
Touch Search networks
Touch any network apart from Vodafone
Repeat the above steps
Touch Vodafone UK.

Thank You for Calling Vodafone."
