No call recording option

I am in the UK and I use a Vodafone esim, but there is no option for call recording even if i turn off WiFi calling. Is this the same for anyone in the UK? Does this feature only work in America? Is it due to the laws of the country? Online it doesn't suggest that's an issue. Does anyone know? And if its available, any way I can turn it on?

In the UK and EU, GDPR has resulted in call recording functionality being removed.

I had this issue trying to record my calls on my Galaxy S8 a couple years back. I wasnt on Vodafone, but i don't think that makes a difference.
I ended up using an .APK called "Cube ACR".

Personally I wouldn't be too impressed if I were calling friends for example and they were recording the calls.

There are also legalities about being a Data Controller (GDPR) and also (whilst not technically a legal requirement) advising the person or company you are calling that the call is being recorded. Many companies may choose to terminate the call if it is being recorded via unregulated methods.

It can be a legal minefield and one which is likely to get to the Courts in the coming years.

Oh I saw that the new ios has it as a functionality, so I'm guessing that won't be available here also

That's strange, my screen gives me the spam protection instead. Are you with EE? Maybe it's Vodafone blocking it
