Moved photos from an SD card (s9plus) into my s24ultra phone storage

Sorry in advance for my poor explanation. I'm not great with this. 

I had a samsng s9plus. I had a memory card in this phone. I then brought the s24ultra and realised it didn't support a SD card. 

I brought a 

4-in-1 USB C SD Card Reader with USB 3.0 Port & Charging Port | JSAUX Type C to Micro SD Memory Card Reader to transfer the files from my SD card to my phone. 

Now when I got on my gallery this is what I see. 

Please can someone help. I have lost 200gb of photos.

Are the photo's still on your Sd Card ?

If they are then you haven't lost the photo's thankfully. 

It's been a long time since I've had to contend with a Sd Card so I would suggest a Google Search for the various methods and or If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

Once you've got your photo's into your phone I'd suggest to jse SmartSwitch to move your gallery to your new phone. 

Hopefully one of the other members here can intercede and also help.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately I just moved them over instead of copying them so they aren't on the sd card anymore. I'm so angry with myself.

Yes I did a smart switch with my phone so everything else is OK.

What happens when you click on one of the tiles? Does the image open?

It just opens this.

Sounds like they didn't copy properly when using the adapter or tried to copy to many at one time and it's frozen

Do they open when using my files instead of gallery you can try sending a pic to your self through whats app then saving it

When you were copying the files did the USB adapter at any point say disconnected while the transfer was in place if so I'm sorry but the files might be corrupt

No. The only message I had was that I needed to rename.
