Hi,
I got an S24+ 2 days ago. I am really struggling to get the mobile data to work properly. It is slow slow that my apps tell me there is no internet connection. Sometimes rebooting helps, but not every time and I never get 5g with only 1 sim card.
I placed a 2nd sim into the phone and separated the calls and messages from data and suddenly I have stable 5g. If I swap the sim cards I have the same issue and the 5g only follows when data is assigned to the one sim card. I have already gotten a new sim and this didn't solve the issue.
The kicker is that if I only put in the sim card that gives me 5g and take out the 2nd one I go back to having slow to no internet access at all.
This experience has really made me regret coming back to a Samsung after having no issues on iPhone for the last 15 years.

Hi @HugovanWyk
Probably, you have done it already but I will ask the question to avoid assumptions. Have updated the phone to the latest firmware "AXCA"?
Are you using two SIMs from the same network provider or different ones?
Mobile data can only be enable on one SIM at the time.
Have you tried clearing the cache partition?
Did you use SmartSwitch to transfer data from the iPhone?

Hi @Reylob
I checked for a firmware update and according to the phone I am on the latest version which is AXBN.
I don't want to use two sims to be honest. I currently have two contracts, and one will expire in two months and I don't intend on renewing the contract. I renewed the other contract three days ago and the contract I took is a data only contract because my intention was to make use of VoIP calling to save cost. I am currently using two sims from the same provider. The sim that will expire in two months will give me 5g when I switch to data on that sim. If I also enable calling and messaging on that same sim and disable SIM 1 I don't even get 3g.
I wiped the cache partition now after reading your comment and no change.
I did use SmartSwitch to transfer data from the iPhone
Here is where I am getting confused. There is clearly 5g signal in my location because I get 5g on the phone with no issue when I have 2 sims, from the same network, inserted and allocate data to only 1 sim. Having a single sim card in the phone, doesn't matter which one, I only get H+ and it seems like the phone is only sending out data but not receiving any response. I then tried using my wife's sim because she is on a different network and with only her sim card in the phone I get 5g as well.
I don't understand how having two sims from my network installed I get 5g but having only one installed the mobile data just doesn't work, but on another network I have no issue.

Hi again @HugovanWyk
Well, that is interesting. Are you in the UK? Did you get your phone from your network provider?
If you tap Settings -> Software updates -> Download and install
Do you get Security level patch 1 April 2024, like the picture below?
Software update
If you have not issue with another network, then the issue must be the current network.
Let me see if I understood you correctly. Sim A is data only and it inserted in port SIM1. Sim B will expire in 2 months and it has voice and data and it is inserted in port SIM2.
If mobile data is enable on SIM2, you get 5G with Sim B, but when you enable calling and messages and disable SIM1 you lose mobile data (not even 3G).
If you have both Sim A & B in the phone, SIM1 and SIM2 and you enable mobile data on either SIM1 or SIM2, you get 5G, but if you insert only SIM A or B, you get H+ with either of sim.
What happens if you insert Sim A or B on your wife's phone? Does you wife's phone gets 5G with either Sim A or Sim B?
I think that problem might be coming from your network and one sim being data only.
Did you get rid of your iPhone? Is the iPhone 5G compatible? If yes, have you tried Sim A and B in it?
Have you tried rebooting the S24+ in safe mode?
If you haven't please try it and check if you have the same problem. It will help to check if there an app misbehaving.
To boot in safe mode check:

Have you contacted your network support? they might be able to tell you what is going on at their end.
If you still have the iPhone and it has all the data. There is the nuclear option. You could do a factory reset on the S24+, do all necessary updates, without transferring the data from the iPhone and try using the Sim A and B. I know that it is a real pain in the eye, but it should help with the troubleshooting.
However, a factory reset will be my last option when everything else has failed.

Hi @Reylob
Sorry for the late reply and thank you for your assistance.
I don't get what you see in the software update. I am in South Africa. Our network providers don't release the firmware until they add all their own bloatware into the release. I even looked on Sammobile and my model isn't listed there which I found strange. Model - SM-S926B/DS
I also think it is the network. I'm not sure how but it feels like having both connected is somehow boosting the signal.
SIM A (newly upgraded contract Data 5GB per month and Voice bundle)
SIM B (Expires in 2 months Data Only [for iPad])
Both inserted with settings for Voice and messages on SIM A and DATA only on SIM B I get 5g and it is rock solid with no issues. If I swap the sims around and put SIM B into SIM 1 slot and SIM A in Sim 2 slot and I change the settings so that Data is now only on SIM 1, where SIM B is now installed, and Voice on SIM B I also don't get 5g. By Doing this I am putting the same setting on the same sim card but just switched the sim cards into the different slots.
I have run diagnostics etc but the phone seems fine. I have been moaning about this network for a long time. I get a fairly big discount on the Voice part of the contract so I think for the R100.00 that is causing the problem I am just going to get a data only contract from a different provider that I know works with no issues for the second slot and when my contract ends I am going to cancel it completely and move over to another network.
I no longer think the phone is the issue. I am actually really enjoying it now.

Well, thank you for getting back to us.
I am sure another member will benefit from this threads.
Good luck with your new network.

have the same problem with my s24+.

Hey! Did you manage to fix the issue? I have the same and it's clearly the phone.

Mine was never solved. I just put a second sim in the phone in order to use it.
