Recently I made a choice to buy the Samsung galaxy series 6 classic watch for exercise tracking and ecg bmi features. Well I get hone find out you can't even use those features without a galaxy phone. Then I'm stuck with a watch that can't even use all features it's sold with. So I go and get the galaxy s24 plus. I get it setup and now I got choppy audio going to basic Bluetooth head phones. Half the time it won't auto connect to my cars android auto. Then when it does it'll start giving choppy audio there. Lagging Google maps on my android auto. Then I'll change the developer option s for HD audio to fix the choppy problems and it'll decide to change it back without reboot. This phone and watch deal is by far the worsest choice I've made. There's multi timed a day this phone makes me so angry I wanna throw it at the wall. I belive this choppy audio is designed this way to force ppl to buy yet another samsung item galaxy head phones. I really wish I could just get my money back from this phone and watch cause soon I will end up smashing this phone over this.

Lagging android audio maps choppy audio thru android auto then you can't even use Bluetooth head phones without choppy connectivity issues. Then you change your settings to improve it and the device will change it back. Unacceptable. And how they sell a watch that you can't even uses all features without another Samsung device.

OP is surprised that a branded watch will have limited features when paired with another manufacturer phone... Manufacturers design their products to be used with their own products. Of course they're going to limit/restrict compatibility and features so customers will buy a compatible device to pair them with. I'm not sure why you're so surprised by this tbh.

You've mentioned having 'basic' BT headphones. How long have you had these for? What brand are they? Have you tried 'non-basic' BT headphones to see if there is a difference in the quality?

There the jlab headphones. I've narrowed it down to the audio codec as the problem. If I disable the HD audio in developer options it'll not do it but few hours later without doing anything on device incept playing music it'll re enable it outta no where making me have to disable it again.

Could also try toggling on turn 'off A2DP hardware offload', in devleoper settings, to see of this makes a difference. Just be mindful that when you're changing certain settings it may increase battery usage.

I've never used Jlab but looking at the prices for them I would recommend upgrading them but maybe borrow friends headphones etc to see if you notice a difference in the quality.

Hi @Brett8

As mentioned a Samsung Watch will pair with other phone's but some features may not work and or provide a limited set of options and functions.

I have a Samsung Watch⁶ Classic Bluetooth paired with my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra, and have had no issues.

I do not use Android Auto but there are threads already on this forum which might along, along with further help from Google.

In regards to Bluetooth and listening to music 🎶 I have a set of Samsung Buds² Pro earbuds ,and a set of Bose QuietComfort Ultra Over-Ear Wireless Headphones , to which I've experienced no drop outs, or issues with the quality of music from.

Have a look at the spec of your current headphones and also if you can test another set. The make and model you own may have it's own issues or they don't connect to the settings the phone provides via Bluetooth.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
