Bluetooth turns off and on after a bit when airpods are connected

My bluetooth before never turned itself off and on by itself but recently when I'm listening to music with my airpods it's just turning itself off and immediately turning back which pauses my music and forces me to manually connect my airpods again. This doesn't happen when my galaxy watch 5 is only connected which is really weird.

Does it turn off the connection to Bluetooth fully? As in- does it disconnect the watch too?

Airpods might be malfunctioning

It disconnects everything but automatically reconnects to the watch when bluetooth is turned back on its own

But why would that turn off my phones bluetooth? And they aren't malfunctioning from what I know as they worked perfectly fine on my old mp3 player

Hmm, go to settings, general, reset, reset Bluetooth settings. Note, you'll need to re-pair your devices. Restart device. See if it helps.
