I got One UI 7 on my Galaxy S24 Ultra and I hate every single change. It is such a big drawback for me, that it's almost a showstopper. I used Galaxy S phone since the S III and I have never been so disappointed.

Is there a way to remove this mess and go back to the previous UI?

How is it that these software designers screw it up more and updates than the original? This UI7 update is the worst. Whoever came up with this update should be fired. I don't think they have the confidence to set up digital clock

The update is terrible. My lovely Samsung now looks like an iPhone. If I wanted the simple unsophisticated approach used by Apple, I would've just bought an iPhone.

On the lockscreen the notifications are now much larger and in your face.

Previously on the home screen there was an awesome seamless ability where if you swiped down you'd get notifications, and a second swipe within that would pull down further and you'd see things like brightness and wifi connection. Now, these are two separate swipes like on the iPhone, a really dumbed down approach.

On the apps page, the search tab is at the bottom, like on the iPhone which is super annoying and un-intuitive. So when you click on search at the bottom of the screen the recently used apps appear at the top of the screen, that makes no sense.

Changing the Samsung mail app to a silly white box with the @ sign, what is this, 2003?

I just don't understand how this update made it through any reviews and people thought, yes this is a good idea. People buy Samsung because firstly (I hope) they just prefer what Samsung has to offer, but secondly, the fact that it's not restrictive and over simplified like an iPhone. But for some reason, we're now going down that route. Is a little more revenue from iPhone users worth potentially losing long-time Samsung customers?

My galaxy s24 updated last night to One UI 7 of its own accord. I can't find a setting to turn off auto updates anymore. I never got a choice about doing the update, my phone just did it. Then while it was updating, I noticed the phone and charger were dangerously hot to the touch. I unplugged the charger and went to bed. This morning I woke up and plugged my phone in at 70% because I use my phone for work. I came back 20 minutes later to a dangerously hot phone at 55%. Unplugged, rebooted. It stopped overheating after the reboot, then I started noticing issues. I swiped down from the top of screen to access my notifications but that brought me to the settings drop down. It took me 10 minutes to figure out how to access it notification screen and it doesn't always work. Sometimes I get notifications, sometimes I get the settings drop down. My messenger bubbles now disappear when I have other apps open and I'm not able to access the message string without closing the app which defeats the purpose of the bubbles. I also can't see messenger notifications on my lock screen and can't find a setting to turn that back on. Also, when I have an app open, I can't access my notification screen at all without closing the app. Everything has moved on my homescreens. This is the worst update I've ever had on a phone and I haven't even fully explored it yet so I'm sure there's going to be a lot more. The point of updates is to improve user experience and ease of access. Not hinder. Samsung needs to revert to One UI 6 and scrap 7 all together and try again.

This has got to be the WORST update ever. Its actually driving me crazy how UGLY and unusable it is. Im prob going to buy a new phone today and finally ditch samsung. I have never been so irrationally angry at an update before until now. I cannot use this. Even my dropdown settings sucks and the music widget? WHY IS IT AT THE BOTTOM OF MY LOCKSCREEN WHERE MY THUMB CANT REACH NOW????

I do not like this at all!

Everything is now a bunch of AI "assistants" that I do not want or need. You can't even easily open notifications anymore. Moving from one open app to another is also a mess - we don't need the stupid animation of flipping through apps like pages in a book - just put it back the way it was so we could swipe left or right to select and swipe up to close.

I really want to disable the whole thing. I want a phone with NO AI of any kind - NONE. I don't want any of this! I want my phone to do what I tell it to when I tap on the screen and that is all.

Why is this so impossible?

It's horrendous.  I can't find a "notifications list", I can't dismiss all notifications at once. Who wants to endlessly scroll when pages let you scroll quicker. Just now had to figure out how to block a spam #. It's the worst UI update I've had and I've been on Android for decades
