Hi, does anyone know how I can change the background picture on my Samsung messages app, it's an S24 Ultra and I cannot find a customise chat room anywhere 😫 

Any help would be much appreciated

Use Google messages instead, Samsung messages has been deprecated for a while now. Google messages is the replacement

Hi arianwen27 thanks, I did have a look at the Google messages as well and that doesn't seem to have a customise chat either. Any suggestions on that one?

I think the best you can do is light or dark mode. I don't think you can pick a background like you can in whatsapp

As far as I'm aware you can't and Google messages is just basic as well.

@keith30 Thanks, it's weird because it has a picture there at the moment, which was transferred over from my old flip phone, and I just wanted to remove it.....unfortunately, I'm not that technical

If I remember correctly, in Samsung Messages you have to go into the chat itself and there should be options for that conversation - changing the background and sound. Each chat could have its own background. That was two years ago, I don't know how it is now, because I've been on Google Messages for two years now. At first, for about a month, I missed the ability to customize each chat, but after that it didn't anymore. Google Messages has stable and secure RCS, Samsung really had bugs in that regard. Now I don't miss Samsung Messages at all, you will get used to it too 🙂

May I please ask, when you talk about a picture already there, do you mean a small round one like you have at the top left of your messages on this thread or do you mean a full size picture covering the whole screen?

@Piper123 hi, it's a full screen picture, the same as you would on WhatsApp
