Why is HDR content on netflix so dark? Is that not the opposite of what it's meant to be like? My previous phone was nice and bright and fantastic to watch. This is the last issue I'm putting up with. My next device will be an iPhone.

check this video from android authority- it suggests the problem maybe linked to screen auto brightness

There is a brightness control within the app that overrides phone brightness setting. It could be that yours it not set to full brightness on its slider.

It's up full mate and it's still extremely dull. It's just HDR content. I don't have any issues with non HDR content.

A curious thing.. I seem to have been experiencing something similar to what you described but in the YouTube application.

It's odd my brightness is at full but it feels like it's at three quarters.
No auto level active. 🤔

Very odd

Also I might have solution to your problem. Go into settings then advanced features then video brightness and toggle it on for YouTube.

I had that turned on originally but turned it off when some video seemed washed out.
Something must have changed if it's now needed to make video look normal.
But thanks I never thought of that so will give it a go 👍

Not a problem. Do you have vivid mode turned on?
