Hi Samsung community,
I’m experiencing an ongoing issue with my Galaxy Buds Pro when using them with my Galaxy S24 Ultra (this also occurred with my previous Galaxy S22 Ultra). While the earbuds connect seamlessly for music playback and handle microphone input only during regular phone calls, they fail to use their built-in microphone in apps like Discord and WhatsApp.
The Problem:
In Discord, the audio switches to "Phone Mode," resulting in poor-quality audio. Despite this, the system defaults to the phone’s microphone instead of the Buds’ mic.
In WhatsApp voice messages or calls, the phone’s microphone is used exclusively, even though the Buds are connected.
Permissions for microphone, calls, and media are enabled for all apps.
What I’ve Tried:
Confirmed Galaxy Buds Pro is set as the default audio device.
Checked app-specific permissions (microphone access is allowed).
Restarted devices, re-paired Buds, and updated software (One UI 6.1).
Questions:
Is this a software limitation with non-native apps (Discord/WhatsApp)?
Are there hidden settings to force microphone routing to the Buds?
Could this relate to Bluetooth audio profiles (e.g., A2DP vs. HSP/HFP)?
This issue significantly impacts voice clarity during meetings and calls. Any advice or fixes would be appreciated!
Device Details:
Phone: Galaxy S24 Ultra (SM-S928B)
Buds: Galaxy Buds Pro (SM-R190)
Software: Latest One UI 6.1 +
Thanks in advance!

Is April 2024 last update a typo? You should be on at least Dec 2024
Any other calling apps affected? Are whatsapp and discord apps modded in any way?

Sorry, no idea why I wrote it like that.
But basically everything is up to date. Just checked again. But it is a very annoying problem that makes the headphones only partially practicable.
