I've already posted about this but surely Samsung need to fix this as soon as possible. It doesn't seem like a difficult fix. The stuttering is caused by the refresh rate dropping from 120hz to 24hz while watching content on netflix. Putting it on standard refresh rate doesn't work either as it drops from 60hz to 24hz. Netflix is my most used app but content is unwatchable due to annoying stutter every 10 damm seconds. I will need to returning this device if it isn't fixed. Im not factory resetting or any other pointless step because that will make zero difference. It's an issue Samsung themselves need to fix via an update. get it sorted Samsung!!!!

I just tried on my home WiFi and it did exactly the same, froze and the sound carried on , and I have 150mbs , so it's definitely not a network issue

I get wee micro stutters and I just can't watch anything because that stutter drives me crazy. I've not had any freezes though.

The stuttering is caused by the refresh rate. It goes from 24hz to 48 then 120 it's doing that constantly which is causing the stuttering. Hold your finger on the screen when watching something on netflix it won't stutter. Definitely a software issue.

I have enabled Developer mode, enabled Show refresh rate, watched Netflix.

The refresh rate is mostly at 24 and there is no stuttering.

I would bet the issue is not with Samsung but Netflix, your provider, your Wifi router / settings.

Dave I believe you when you say that. You must be one of the lucky ones though. There's a number of people having this problem though. If I thought the issue was with my device I'd take it to a Samsung store.

I thought I was going crazy. For me on Netflix or YouTube (I guess app does not matter, it has to be software/firmware issue) if content is 24-30Hz it will play with micro stutters (not freezes or pauses, just very small skips but enough to annoy). I turned on refresh rate indicator in dev options and I can clearly see - if I play 24Hz or 30Hz motion test video on Youtube, it begins micro stuttering as soon as refresh rate drops to 24/30Hz. If I put finger on the screen forcing refresh rate of the display to stay on 60/120Hz stuttering disappears. 60FPS content is unaffected. Tried every other setting I could think of but nothing helped.

Edit:

1) Turning off subtitles in Netflix prevents display from switching between 24/48/120Hz. However micro stutters were still present on 24Hz refresh rate.

2) Phone reboot fixed the issue but only temporarily. I did not experience any micro stutters for a while on any refresh rate except the state when display switches from one to another refresh rate. But that is to be expected. So it seems to be a software/firmware issue.

Edit 2:

When phone is rebooted, content is displayed smoothly at 24Hz refresh rate until phone is locked and display is turned off. Upon display wake up the micro stutters are introduced.

Dear Sir,

I have same issue with you about Samsung S24 Ultra and Netflix

"I've got a strong Internet signal, and the sound carries on, but the picture freezes on netflix"

Do you have any solution for that pls?

I am very much looking forward to your response. My telegram: trungdn_dng

Thank you!

I am using S24 Exynos version and i can confirm this, especially when playing HDR content on netflix. The video is downloaded, so clearly not an issue with the network.

Here  is what i did

1.Turn off battery optimization for netflix

2. Clear Netflix cache

3. Reboot
