I've already posted about this but surely Samsung need to fix this as soon as possible. It doesn't seem like a difficult fix. The stuttering is caused by the refresh rate dropping from 120hz to 24hz while watching content on netflix. Putting it on standard refresh rate doesn't work either as it drops from 60hz to 24hz. Netflix is my most used app but content is unwatchable due to annoying stutter every 10 damm seconds. I will need to returning this device if it isn't fixed. Im not factory resetting or any other pointless step because that will make zero difference. It's an issue Samsung themselves need to fix via an update. get it sorted Samsung!!!!

I have this issue with my S23 Ultra and seems like this issue has been around for a while with no fix. Extremely annoying.

Hello, I had the same issue in Disney plus and it was extremely annoying. I found a fix though - described below.

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing:

I can consistently replicate it in the Snow White (2025) around time 36:45 when I start the playback around 35:45 or so. I turn the draw FPS on in developer settings and it starts at 120fps, then drops shortly to 24fps and hovers there, but it clearly dips even lower, hence the stutter.

Now the fix:

  1. Install Good Lock (official samsung app for advanced customization of their phones)
  2. Install Game Booster + module from within the Good Lock app.
  3. Open Game Booster + and click on "Game category settings"
  4. Find Disney+ in the list and toggle the switch to "on" position - this will allow the phone to treat the Disney+ app as a game
  5. Close and open Disney+ again - I see that the fps counter never drops below 60fps and the stutter is gone.
  6. Go to standard "Settings" and search there for "game booster" and go to "Game Booster settings".
  7. Adjust the settings for "In-game panel" -> "Where to access the -in-game panel" -> "Notification". This will prevent a small pill-shaped overlay from obscuring part of the Disney+ video, though this pill can be moved to an edge anyway. But this is definitely even cleaner and it has no impact on the fix from my observation
  8. Also in "Game Booster settings" adjust "Touch protection" -> "Auto touch protection" -> "Never".

This fixed the issues for me. Mind you I never game on my phone, so I don't have a use for the Touch protection settings.

But it is still crazy that one has to do all these manual steps to get a satisfactory performance from one of the most mainstream apps on one of the most mainstream phones. I would expect better from either Samsung or Disney as I am not sure where to place the blame.

Tried this. 100 % identical to your instructions but no help. Refresh rate drops to 24 at idle on netfix
