Circle to search new?

So while waiting for my s24U to arrive i have been exploring if the upgrade is even worth it over my s22u and i realised that one new key feature that Samsung is promoting is circle to search but it looks like something very similar already exists on my s22u. If i keep my homescreen button pressed i get the google assistant

As you can see this already has the visual search and translate options. And they work really well just as well as the circle to search on my wifes s24+ . This works on any screen including live with the camera open and in the gallery or webpages and social media apps. Just thought id share in case anyone wanted to buy these phones just for this feature.

Samsung has adopted the circle to view search from Google. Yes, Google brought it out first but as Samsung and Google paired up together at the beginning of the year. Who knows we may see other features come about. Google has withdrawn a lot of ir's Google assistant features as well.

So having tried it out on my wifes s24+ the only thing different is the way you select what you want to search i.e after pressing the home button for a while the screen goes a few shades lighter and you can make your selection by circling but once you have done that the same screen as pic 2 above shows i.e with the square brackets to narrow down what you want to search. After that the rest of it is the same as current phones i guess. Also on the s24+ i didn't see an option to translate. Will look agin today but would have been great if they asked me what i wanted to do with the circled selection i.e search or translate.

Most of the AI Image editing features are already present on the S22 Ultra as well.

Like remaster and shadow/reflection eraser, and the 24 hour time-lapse.

Good shout. I did see remaster and object eraser but no separate option to remove shadow / reflections. I assume this is something that shows only if the AI detects shadows / reflections? Anyway will wait a week for my s24u to arrive if its delayed again will cancel and stick with the s22u. With every passing day I seem to be questioning my decision to upgrade.

Yes, the options depend on the picture. The removal and the 24 hours time-lapse only come if the function can be applied to the picture. I have played with them, but not use them in anger.

Even with all negative stuff going on, I am still happy I pre-order a S24 Ultra. The only negative is the delivery on the 9th.

Same boat as you. But if it doesnt come by then i will take it as a sign from the universe and cancel. I cant be bothered to get in touch with their customer service and argue. And looks like if coming from the s22u the upgrades arent earth shattering. Its a great phone already

By the way, I tried the search screen function. I do not have to press the home button, I say "hey google" and the options come automatically.

I think that if they delay my delivery passed the 9th I might follow your example and cancel. I was not never expecting the upgrades to be significant, but I was happy to upgrade just for the SD chipset.

If I cancel then I will wait for the S25 unless there is an offer I cannot refuse later in the year.

Same bro i wanted to upgrade just for the sd chipset and the hopefully better image processing it comes with. The flat screen is also a good to have. One benefit of the delay could be that we get more clarity/fix by then on the screen issues people seem to be having by then.
