This is driving me crazy ! My selfie mode keeps doing a countdown when I go to take a picture on my S24!

It's making me miss really nice moments with my son and it's his 2nd birthday this weekend and I feel like im not going to take any pictures! I've rang Samsung, they did a camera data reset, I've done a software update (which made facebook play up but that's a separate issue) and I've been playing around with my camera today and the timer came on by itself again.

It's fully turned off, so please don't suggest I turn it off, its doing it on its own randomly.

I can't get an appointment with Samsung for repair for 2 weeks, but I need this resolving by Friday. I only bought the phone for the good camera so the fact is ruining nice pictures at an important time in my family's life is so upsetting.

Please help.

Yeah the clock at the top of the screen, it's never been turned on, I know how to turn it off and on but I always have it off, it doesn't happen for every picture, just happens randomly, really effecting picture taking xx

Does it sound like the sort of thing a factory reset will sort? Seems useless having a phone with a good camera if I don't have a working camera for special events. I'm so upset and the Samsung shop can't help.

You could try do a factory reset, but before that you should backup all your videos photos etc

You will need to back up all important data before you factory reset. Either back up with google or samsung. Go to settings accounts and back up. Unfortunately you would only know if a factory reset fixes the issue once you've done one. I can't guarantee it will fix. I would wipe the phones cache partition first.

How do I get them back on the phone after a reset? I've got Google pictures, will it clear my gallery and make it impossible to get the pictures back on my gallery? Xx

It's not exactly the same. Resetting the Camera app simply reverts it to what it would have been like when you first got the phone (e.g. no customisations or new settings).

It's a useful step, as you might have inadvertently toggled on a timer at some point. I've done the same in the past, so please don't take that as a judgment. 😀

Plug up to a PC or tv, console or another samsung device. Power the phone down.

Press and hold the Side key and the Volume up button on the side of the phone

Release the Side key when the phone turns on

Keep holding the Volume up button until the phone enters Reboot Mode

Press the Volume down button to select Wipe cache partition
Then go to restart once done using the same keys. If you are not sure how, please look up a video on you tube.
