Hi all , I know you have to have the brief notification turned on to make edge lighting work BUT when I get a notification whilst my phone is on it say the name of the person and a brief bit of the message, I'd like to keep the pop up to keep edge lighting working but I'd like to hide the details of the brief pop up, is this possible??? It's not using standard app / phone settings , wondered if anyone knew of a way ........ thanks

I found a way to do it. But it won't work on lockscreen... I'm looking for the same issue but for it to work on the lockscreen.

Anyways here's how it works on phone unlocked(whatsapp anyway): go to your in app notification settings and turn off "use high priority notifications "

Now go to phone settings and make a routine...
If WhatsApp notifies
Then light edge

That's it...

But like I said... it doesnt work on lockscreen.

@Members_dHvxaJa: I have looked into this, and there doesn't appear to be a means of hiding the brief pop-up details while the phone is unlocked. You do have the option of disabling the pop-up for certain apps and keeping the Edge Lighting notification, however. To do this, head to Settings > Apps > Select an app > Notifications > Notification types > Pop-up > Tap the box so 'Not allowed' appears, and the border greys out. I appreciate that this isn't exactly what you were hoping to achieve, but I hope it goes some way to resolving your issue.

Thanks Andrew , I found if I turned off pop up it stopped the edge lighting too . This feature is really annoying, I was showing something on my phone the other day and a text came through off my wife and my friend could read the first line if what she had put , it wasn't like this on my OnePlus 8t phone , I just wish Samsung would sort it so when the screen is on and I get a text it literally just says " messages " in the pop up, that way I can keep edge lighting
