When uninstalling the app from the phone can you also make sure you delete the app from your MyLibrary in your Playstore account. This way when installing the app again it is a fresh copy of the app.
Please do double check the apps preferences settings too.

It might be beneficial to check on the Playstore for any other comments made by other users of the app to see if they are experiencing similar issues.
It might also be beneficial to contact the developers of the app too.
