Hi

I recently bought a S24 Ultra and immediately updated it

I think the battery is draining much faster than usual or after 6-7 hours of use (browsing and Instagram). I have to charge it twice a day which I find unusual.

Is my phone defective?

Hello 👋 @Mohamadd

When a phone is first purchased the battery won't be fully optimised until it has been charged and discharged a few times.

Also it would be in the learning phase for approximately 14 days.

Take into consideration it will be probably settling down after updating it, and downloading your information ,and you'll be using it more regularly as you tweak it's functions and features etc.

In the Device Care under battery there is a section that shows what apps are using the battery. If one is heavy using them think about sleep and deep sleep options.

May I suggest to perform a forum search as you may find already existing threads with help and advice within in regards to battery tips.

There is also an optimisation tool found in Device care.

A known troubleshooting step is

  • Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port or a usb-c to usb-c phone to phone set up to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

@Mohamadd  As mentioned you will see  which apps are using up most of your Battery in Device care, if you tap on graph can see the full stats, some social media apps such as Tiktok and  Facebook can be battery hogs (if relevant)can post on here as it may help.   However it is going to take a bit of time for the Battery learning phase to  be complete.

It is best to put apps which are not being used a great deal into Sleep Mode and at this point you may wish to only have connections such as Bluetooth,Wifi and NFC running when necessary.    Some other optimisation tips here though ideally you want a mix of  the optimum  Battery life and the best experience.  https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-optimise-the-battery-life-on-a-galaxy-smart....

clearing the cache partition may help as suggesterd, temporary cache files are deleted but your Data is intact.
