Hi all!

I've been using my s24 ultra for three weeks and I absolutely loved it. From design, to the specs and pretty much everything. Battery is great and gives me more than 5 hours of sot.

My question is. There's a feature on my phone called battery protection which protects the battery from overcharging to 100% but normally i use my phone, I don't tend to use it. But is it really necessary to turn this feature on?

It's a personal preference @ItzZia

That stops the battery charging to 100%

It charges to 80%

In theory this will extend the life of your battery which will help owners intending on holding onto their phone for a number of years.

Personally I want 100% so I then know I have a whole days usage, and some change left in the battery.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

I use basic.
I also want the full charge, as there are days that I need all of the battery available.
I don't think it really makes that much of a difference these days. But then I guess I don't keep a phone that long.
I think if you're a lite user, then charging to 80% can be a good thing. Especially if you intend on keeping it for some years

I get mine to charge to 80% overnight and it then stops by itself and holds the charge at 80% and then starts charging again to 100% nearer to when I wake up as the phonehas learnt my routine. I believe it's charging your battery to 100% and keep it trickle charging at 100% for hours over the time you own your phone is what causes most battery degradation. I hope this helps 🙏

Yeah i don't tend to do that. I charge it and once it's 100, it's off the charger

If you're a regular user of your phone, basically using it every day, I don't think you'll find battery protection too much of use. If you tend to leave your phone at full power for long periods regularly, battery protection will be of much greater use to you.
