Totally dependent on your lifestyle and how much you use your phone
For me I charge overnight. So the basic setting is good for me
But it's definitely best not to drain the battery below around 15% regularly really.
Maximum would be too restrictive for me. Adaptive I could get away with if I'm on holiday I guess

If your keeping the phone for several years then I'd set the battery to charge to 80% as this should extend the lifespan.

I've always charged to 💯% and not experienced any issues @Ginsing64

Thanks mate 👍🏻 I normally set it to maximum. But if I eek out the battery life longer so much the better.

Thanks. I normally set it to maximum, but if another setting protects the battery more, so much the better.

It's s totally new setting in this generation, so no one can definitively say which will work best (that and these phones are less than a month old). But it would be a wise bet that maximum will protect your battery's longevity the best.

As others have indicated this is an individual choice based on your particular patterns and how often you upgrade devices.  However the adaptive feature  I think would be advantageous for many  with the  adjustments to  charging speed and  schedule based on habits.  The Device learns the user's charger routine and delays  charging to 100%  until it predicts the Device will be unplugged, therefore the time  the Battery spends at maximum capacity is reduced.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Yeah, I've been using the maximum setting and normally charge every night anyway, and 80% is fine for me
