If you don't chose the battery saving setting to Maximum on the S24 Ultra and you just unplug it before it reaches 100% is that going to help saving battery life? Battery saving is on Adaptive mode at the moment. I think it's still best to unplug the phone around 80-85% before it reaches 100%?
Why this phone on Maximum battery saving stops charging at 80% instead of 85% like the other Samsung phones? It's true it lasts a long time even charged to 80%.

I am just looking for tips to start improving battery life while it's still young.

Hi @Star_girl

It's really a matter of personal opinion.

I've always charged to 💯 % and not let it go below 15%

Samsung decided to change the battery charging to 80% to further protect the battery that's all.

80% should see most people to the end of the day depending on how they use the phone.

Battery stats is a subjective topic as we all set up our phone's differently and use them differently and use different apps.

Unplugging before it reaches 💯 % amounts to the same if your willing to keep an 👁 on your phone.

Samsung provided the settings you mention to help lengthen the lifespan kf the batteries as they are now supporting these phone's for 7 years with updates.

You can use the Device Care Section under Battery to keep an eye on what's using your battery.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask.  😎

My Lenovo laptop keeps battery charging level between 50-60%. It suits me, as I use it basically as desktop. That's the best way to extend battery lifespan. If I need it on the go, I simply charge it to 100%. When you buy a new phone, the battery is charged around 60%, because that's the level that assures the maximum shelf life. I'd like to be able to limit my phone charging level to 60%, instead of 80%, but even 80% is much better than no limit.

I am charging my phone as much as I need depending on the day ahead and I keep a power bank with me just in case I need to charge again, also sometimes I forget to charge the phone and the power bank is very handy.

It's frustrating that Samsung spends so much time just changing random things that are very specific to each user.

Just code it once Samsung, and make the final charge percentage set by the user and never have to update it again, ever.  Provide an automatic mode for those thst don't want to choose a percentage. You've literally just made everyone happy.

Instead, it's just tweaking things that will be fine for some people, and a pain for others.  Then changing it again in a few months or years.
