[BACKUP] Microsoft One Drive or Google One

Lovely people.

What back up solution are you using?

I have always used Google One.

Pros:

• Cheaper
• Its google so easy backup for all my stuff and easy to recover.
• It just works

This year I have decided to try One Drive 

As there was an offer on Microsoft 365 family on Argos for £50 odd pounds for family of 6 and us having all samsung I thought id give it a go. 

Pros

• Can get all your family on board with 1 TB each
• You get the whole Microsoft office suite for everyone 
• Photo back and recovery
• Also has a vpn which I am using and free defender app for your mobile.

Would love to to know what you guys are using and why?

So I have both google and Microsoft now.

It was just on the 22nd Dec I was trying to renew my sons Microsoft 365 personal on his PC. It wouldn't let me purchase the personal as he needed a parent to do it. Looking up the only way I could of done it was purchase the family which was more expensive, or buy else where to activate subscription. Didn't think at the time to choose the family as use Google myself. Bought the personal from amazon for £52.99 for him in the end. Should have looked on argos 😂

Yeah. Argos same price for family. I believe you can stack em up as well if you want it to last a good few years.

Google one. Google photos also as some good editing tools. Also got Amazon prime that's got unlimited photo storage too. Switching phone makes isn't a problem as there both available for all makes including 🍏. If your changing phone manufacturer then android covers moving all your data over either wireless or by cable. Also use smart switch.

You can move all your data over from Samsung phone to Pixel phone. It's an option when your setting the new phone up to copy data from your old phone. It's either by wireless or usb cable. 👍

VPN is still available on pixel phones.

It was available for other phones with the Google One subscription I believe.

Agreed. Although I personally dont prefer that as sometimes it causes issues ( especially when apps and settings are transferred) that's why I avoid samrtswitch as well.

I believe Amazon are the only ones who offer unlimited photo storage among major players on their prime account now.
