Adaptive power saving mode

Have had my S24+ just over 2 weeks now and loving it. Just thought I would share some observations about power saving mode. Firstly I am in the UK so am lumbered with the Exynos processor which is OK for me as I get a day out of my phone. After doing some research I tried adaptive power saving mode which with pretty heavy use was giving me SOT of around 4.5 hours. It did annoy me how when the adaptive power saving mode kicked in and triggered the main power saving it kind of latched this on so power saving remained on until I charged it again then this reverted back to just adaptive power saving. Yesterday I tried out using no adaptive power saving mode at all and amazingly I got nearly 6 hours SOT. I guess there are lots of factors that can affect this but adaptive power saving doesn't save huge amounts of battery on Exynos processors. Loving the phone having come from an S10+

Tp be honest @MarkBatch I've had very little negative experience in phone's with the Samsung Exynos Soc inside.

That said I do find that the Qualcomm Snapdragon Soc does provide better optimum experiences.

I have the Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra so has the Qualcomm Snapdragon Soc in but that wasn't a deal breaker. I wanted the Ultra model.

Nor do I use the adaptive power mode as I want everything the phone has been designed to provide me.

Happy days.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I'm the same as @BandOfBrothers with phone use. I have everything on full performance. I don't use any battery saving options at all.
For me, I think the best way of getting the most from the battery is to manage your usage, especially when the battery gets low.
That way, I get all my notifications when they come in as sometimes battery saving options can restrict background usage for some apps.

Regularly optimise the battery and regularly turning off the phone and turning it back on helps the software to not build up unnecessary bits of data that can cause issues.
I do this once a week.
Same with Wiping the Partition Cashe after OS software updates.
Not forgetting of course to keep apps updated

@MarkBatch  I would agree, whilst you want impressive Battery life I think maximising the performance/ experience is more important. Whilst there may be occasions when a Power saving Mode is desirable  for some, think it should be used sparingly and you may not need it at all.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Hi.

I have mine off on my ultra.

On my s21 ultra exynos, I once set my brightness from auto to keep it at 50% or below manually and it made a huge difference as well.

Not to mention taming background data and location access for apps under app permissions helps as well.
