In many other online communities, a message that recieves a reply is bumped back up to the first page. 

Is that not possible here?

The only thing is, some replies are just people maybe having a joke or a conversation beyond the solution provided. And then each reply will bump the post up and other posts needing solutions will be bumped down.

Unless, once a clear solution is provided, the post is closed for replies.

That's why there are moderators who can move a thread to another section or block future comments. 

The method used here is at odds to the other forums I frequent.  It's nice to stop by once in a while to see what the active posts are. 

The way it's setup here though, I find myself scrolling through pages of posts; that wouldn't be my first choice of setting up a community.

Perhaps others will chime in with their thoughts.

Yup, if moderators could close a post, it may help. I would also want to be able to block a member too!

Hi @davehorne , Are you using the web or app version of the Community?

If the web version, click your avatar to get the drop-down menu, then: 'My Settings' > 'Preferences' > 'General' > 'Sort topics by', and set it as 'Time of most recent post'.
