I have a UAG Monarch Kevlar case on my S24 Ultra, so it is well-protected. I accidentally dropped it indoors yesterday from a low height, and the phone is fine. However, I noticed that the S Pen, which came loose when I dropped it, had developed cracks around the button. It still works normally, but it gets stuck in the phone, so I had to order a replacement. I have been using the Note series for over 12 years and have never broken a phone or S Pen. Is Samsung cutting costs in the S Pen's build quality? Because there is no way it should break that easily. Has anyone else experienced issues with cracks in the S Pen?

I've dropped mine quite a few times now without any case and my S Pen is like new.

Hello @Kbrooks

I use a UAG Monarch Pro Kevlar Magsafe case on my Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra, and it too has protected my phone from the occasional drop.  👍

However depending on the height and angle the phone hits the floor , and what type of floor it's hit the sPen can be ejected slightly from the phone's silo ,which can if unlucky can cause some damage.

In my opinion Samsung hasn't cut back on the materials, and quality of workmanship of the sPen.

You've unfortunately been unfortunate.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Drops are completely different, it's impossible to reproduce the same damage with the same drop. I dropped my S24 Ultra from chest height flat on its back onto tiled floor. The noise it made had me convinced that it would have smashed the back but the thin Tech 21 case saved it. If your S Pen came loose and was the first thing to hit the floor it's possible the shock wave might have caused cracking I guess. Are you able to share a photo of it? The S Pen might have been undocked before the fall and during the fall it slid out further before hitting the floor.

I am on my 3rd pen. I do have a tendency to drop my phone, so I have a pretty solid case. I've been a samsung user for about 20 years and this is the first time I've had any issues. The first pen came out of its housing when I dropped the phone, so it snapped, which is totally plausible. But the second time, I picked up my phone and the pen fell out of its housing already broken. I presume it broke inside the housing when previously dropped. At this point I'm considering buying an alternative (a cheap knock off) as I have a feeling this won't be my last pen 😔.

I've never broken an S-Pen but I have replaced ones that were lost.

There was one year where there was no built in spot for a pen and the pen had to reside in an extra spot in the case.

I trust the S25 Ultra will continue the tradition of the Note and its built in Pen.
