12MP, 50MP & 200MP

What do you think is happening here.

Shot with different MP modes and the resulting colour science is interesting.

Personally, at the moment, I'm finding 12mp more accurate.

I really can't wait for the big camera upgrade we keep hearing about.

If cameras don't improve on S24 Ultra then my next device may not be Samsung.

Yeah.

They must be thinking 7 years of updates, so they will take it slow 🤣.

Only sorted the main lenses on 12MP, which are awesome, but the rest is questionable.

Also, it looks like the camera update is being pushed to July August .

Hence I tested a couple of shots, so I can measure any improvements .

I had heard May, then June, now I'm hearing July but not direct from Samsung.

In hindsight, had I known today what I didn't know back in January, I would have stayed on the S23 Ultra which I genuinely think is the best mobile phone Samsung have ever produced.

I am happy to wait as long as it's a good update.

Yes picture one is more natural. I have tried this myself & thought the 12mp had more natural colour. It needs sorting otherwise it's pointless having the other mega pixel settings.

Yeah. Also the 50MP and 200MP are slower so no good for moving subjects.

The 12MP is the best.

To be honest I think I could have saved money & got the s23ultra as the camera upgrade is quite minimal on the 24 ultra. & it could have been better.

I upgraded from the s21 ultra and actually find the 5x zoom more useful for people shots. Which I believe majority of us take.

Also as you can see only the 12MP more and the default lenses are optimised the rest of the zoom range is not.

I am hoping Samsung will sort it out in the July camera update as its getting battered on social media .

The competition is getting fierce now.

Zoom , portrait and macro is where vivo and oppo seem to be doing well.

Apple has jumped on the AI now.

Samsung better be cooking something good with one UI 7.

Having said that I actually love the photos coming out of the s24 ultra and don't feel the need to edit them as much as I used to.
