Anyone got any ideas... I've restarted. Cleared the cache, updated the phone, updated WhatsApp... Uninstalled and reinstalled cleared my data then set up again...

And still when I go into a chat to send a pic or video it crashes?

Ar we taking about it hanging or actually crashing.? There is a difference but people use those words to describe the same thing

Have you clear phone partition cache or app cache?

Did the WhatsApp work OK previously  ?

If so can you think of anything you may have downloaded recently that could be the cause now ?

Did you upgrade from a previous Samsung phone to this model now and use a back up to move across your app.

If so what I would do is clear the cache again and then uninstall and then uninstall from your MyLibrary in your Playstore so when you download WhatsApp again your downloading a fresh copy @Nij90

So it worked okay up until yesterday then every time I went into a chat and tried to send a image via attachment gallery etc it basically kept kicking me out back to the chat screen.. Then every so often a message would appear saying whatsapp isn't working properly...

OK @Nij90

Have you contacted WhatsApp support just to ask them too.

I've a feeling this may just correct itself.

Hi - I have the identical problem to you. And I have also done everything that you have done. I have also tried contacting Samsung and Whatsapp and there is no reply. I have uninstalled whatsapp so many times that it also even kicked me out of verification for 48 hours.  Again - reinstalled and still the same problem. HELP PLEASE

Okay so I solved it, it was WhatsApp itself, this is a new phone I had auto updates turned on I always keep it off..

Something wrong with the new WhatsApp update I basically just downloaded an old apk and restored it to an older version and was all good *****

Thank you for the reply. Do you have any idea which apk you downloaded or even a link by any chance? It is driving me mad
