Hello,
I'm experiencing an issue with WhatsApp when using the camera or gallery function. I’ve found similar issues on the S22 forum but I’m using a S23 Ultra and the solution for the S22 doesn’t work for my S23 Ultra.
WhatsApp runs well, I can chat, search and send PDF’s.
The issues lays in using the camera functionality or opening the photo gallery via WhatsApp. As soon as I do so the camera or gallery opens for +/- 3 seconds and after that closes automatically and if I repeat this the application forcefully closes itself.
What I’ve done so far:
- Re-install WhatsApp via Playstore
- Remove all data from WhatsApp on my S23 Ultra
- Remote cache for WhatsApp
- Restart my phone
- Install the version via WhatsaApp.com via package installer (installing the APK)
- Check the permissions of the application (all permissions are on / allowed to use)
At this point I don’t know what to do anymore. Does anyone experience the same thing or experienced the same thing and solved it?
Kind regards,
Sam

Hey Sam,
It looks like you've already tried some of the steps that we usually would've gone through. Are you having a similar issue when you're using other apps like; Snapchat, Instagram, etc? Does this happen on the default Camera app?
Make sure that your software is updated. Go into Settings > Software update > Tap on ‘Download and install’. Then, try a soft reset to see if that helps (Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons for 10 seconds until the phone restarts).

Thank you for your reply.
It seems like the issue is purely isolated to the WhatsApp application as Instagram and Snapchat can make use of the camera and gallery without any issues.
Thank you for the advice on the soft reset, this sadly also didn't do the trick.
