Since yesterday every time I unlock my phone I get the unlock sound. No settings are switched on to make this happen - I have never wanted it on, ever. I don't need to know it is unlocked as my fingerprint or face covers that.
Starting to keep my phone on silent bcause too annoying.

I had this issue. Turns out is was the NFC that was being triggered each time. If you keep a bank / credit card near your phone, it is picking it up each time the phone unlocks.
That hasn't answered my issue. Plus is vague. "Some app" isn't a solution. Considering your first post was you not being happy about TTS being forced on you, I want to identify whether this is a setting, or equally whether this has been forced on me too. And would updating to 7 resolve it?
@Els3823: If you're not a fan of the 'ticking' sound when you unlock your phone, then please head to Settings > Sounds and vibration > System sound > Screen lock/unlock > Toggle this option off.

This suddenly started with my phone yesterday and was driving me insane! I changed the system sound and restarted my phone to no avail. Your solution did the trick.
