Hello, my friend mentioned that when I send text messages, my mobile number that appears is the wrong number, so they have no idea, the message is from me

I moved my mobile number from Vodafone, and my sim card is from Sky, and everything else has, gives out the right mobile number just not text messages

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

Fiona

When did the transfer complete? Did you restart the phone. You need to speak sky mobile support too

You need a new Sim Card from Sky, the new sim card will have your transferred number embedded into it and your phone will then show your correct number.

Your sim probably hasn't switched yet, it could take up to 48 hours for it to actually fully switch, it's a patience game, hope this could be of help

Ask your network to process a sim swap from your current Sim Card to a Blank Sim Card to get rid of the temporary number that was assigned to the Sky sim @Fiona81641

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Does the correct number show when making a call? Also, are you using google messages or samsung messages? If yes, I may know what your issue is.

Yes it does, I am using Samsung messages, as when I use Google messages/RCS messages, it shows as me being connected, but the number it shows me connected as, is a totally random number and not my mobile number, and I can't change it

I'm sorry for the late reply. I didn't get a notification as your reply wasn't to my post.

You need to go to your messages settings and clear out the data (not cache). When you reopen the messages app it will ask you to set up RCS again and this time it will ask to verify your number.

Long press the messages icon and tap the (i) in the top right of the pop up box. Scroll down to Storage and tap, then tap clear data (at the very bottom left). You will get a pop up warning about losing the data of that app but they will sync back after signing back in to your google account. You can back up your messages as well, just in case.
