My old s23 was on a routine back up scheduled to back up my data and text messages to Google one. I have 2 TB of cloud data with only 1 TB used so there should not have been a problem with cloud space. When the s23 crashed, I tried to restore my text messages from Google 1, first, to my old phones and then later to my new s25 ultra 1 TB. It failed each time. I tried it many times on my old devices, and then twice on my new s25 and it failed every time, with a failure message that it couldn't restore them. I checked online and it said that they were there in Google 1. That being the case, I lost 2 years worth of text messages (😫). As far as I can tell, it failed to do ANY kind of reasonable restoration of the data. Is this something that I should just expect from Google (failure) and just do some kind of other backup? Thanks.
